Monument to the Future | 2011

“Monument to the Future“ was realized in Kibera, the largest slum of Nairobi. In the midst of the makeshift houses, a pillar of reinforced concrete, in the proportions of European architectural standards was erected. Besides the symbolic gesture of placing a stable structural element in an unstable environment, the pillar found new use for the inhabitants of the slum who could afterwards use it as a base for new housing.
